Kazuo Matsui hit some soft toss in the batting cage with hitting coach Sean Berry on Wednesday and did some side-to-side agility drills, according to the Houston Chronicle. His back ailment is getting better, but he still isnt expected to be activated from the DL until Monday in Chicago at the earliest. Matsui said, "Thats the plan to be able to play on Monday. The only concern is my speed and how much Ill be able to run."

Kazuo Matsui (irritated disc) would be eligible to be activated from the DL on Thursday, according to the Houston Chronicle. But Manager Cecil Cooper isn't sure if he will activate him until rosters expand Monday. Cooper said, "Thursdays his day, but I kind of doubt it. Probably Monday, if I had to pick a day."
