Hideki Matsui is expected to be used as the DH during the ALDS against the Indians because of his ailing right knee, according to Newsday. He had fluid drained from his knee on Sunday. There's also the chance that Shelley Duncan could get the start against lefty C.C. Sabathia in Game 1, which would put Matsui on the bench, but it doesn't appear as though manager Joe Torre is leaning in that direction.
