The Cardinals have assigned So Taguchi to Triple-A Memphis to make room on the roster for Jason Simontacchi. Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Cardinals manager Tony La Russa plans to include Taguchi on his postseason roster.

The Cardinals recalled So Taguchi from Triple-A Memphis, and he'll start in center field on Wednesday night in place of the injured Jim Edmonds, according to the AP.
