The X-Rays taken on the leg of Cody Ross came back negative, according to the AP. Ross, who collided with Dan Uggla in an effort to catch a bloop single, is listed as day-to-day with a bruised knee.

Cody Ross injured his right leg in a collision with Dan Uggla on Wednesday, according to the AP. He was removed from the game and limped off the field. The severity of the injury is unknown at this time.

Cody Ross had been bidding for the regular center field job with his great play, but a big slump (4-for-36) since July 28 has him spending most of his time on the bench, according to the Sun-Sentinel. "I am not feeling that great at the plate," Ross said. "Instead of staying with the same swing, I was trying to change stuff and it started snowballing after that." Either Alfredo Amezega or Reggie Abercrombie have started the last six games in center.

Despite the great play of Cody Ross lately, manager Joe Girardi isn't ready to name him his starter in center field yet, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Ross, who has started the last six games, is hitting .417 (10-for-24) with four homers and six RBI over his last eight games. "He's going to play a lot. Look at his outs, they are bullets. He played very good defense, too," Girardi said.
