The Pirates claimed Josh Wilson off waivers from the Rays Monday. Wilson batted .238 with two homers and 24 RBI in 282 at-bats with Washington and Tampa.

Josh Wilson was rested Thursday, one of three Tampa Bay regulars given the night off. The Devil Rays were also without outfielder Carl Crawford, who was serving the first game of his two-game suspension.

GM Jim Bowden has said that Wilson, who is hitting .357 this spring, has been one of the most pleasant surprises in camp.
