Bill Hall has found himself in a platoon at third base because of his inability to hit righties, and he's not happy. "Obviously, they're not happy with me hitting off righties. I'm not happy with me hitting off righties," Hall said. "(But) I'm not the only one that's struggling with right-handed pitching—or pitching in general." Manager Ned Yost didn't mind Hall being upset. "If Bill Hall was happy about it, I wouldn't want him on this team," Yost said.

Bill Hall has gone back to wearing contacts after choosing not to wear them the past three years, this according to MLB.com. "Now, when I take my contacts out at night I'm like, 'Why did I ever not wear them?'" Hall said. "Maybe that was my problem last year."

Bill Hall will bat fifth at the beginning of the year for the Brewers, with Corey Hart hitting sixth, manager Ned Yost told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "They're close," said Yost. "Billy has had some really good at-bats in spring training." The spring numbers would seem to favor Hart (.234-3-13) over Hall (.268-0-3, with 24 strikeouts in 64 at-bats), but regardless, Hall should be better this year than he was last year no matter where he hits.

Updating an earlier report, not only are Bill Hall and his injured finger OK, he was actually in the Brewers starting lineup on Thursday and had a single in his first AB proving his toughness and determination to make the switch to third base this season. Hall had a disappointing 2007 with only 59 runs, 14 HR and four SB, so look for him to try and build on those numbers in a very deep Brewers lineup this season.

Following up on an earlier report that Bill Hall went to a local Phoenix hospital for X-rays; the news from JS Online says the tests were negative on his injured right ring finger. Hall didn't suffer a fracture. The report notes that the early diagnosis is a lacerated nail bed. Hall returned to the stadium and started for the Brewers in their Cactus league opener.

Bill Hall injured his right ring finger during team drills on Thursday morning, this according to JS Online. Hall was taken to a Phoenix hospital for x-rays. The report notes that Hall was fielding grounders at third base and a ball took a bad hop and hit his throwing hand. Manager Ned Yost said there was a little blood but said the severity of the injury wouldn't be known until X-rays are taken.

Bill Hall had a shaky first day Monday as he tried to get re-acclimated to the infield, but he was much better on Tuesday at the hot corner. "He looks great, no joke," manager Ned Yost said in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "He looks very good, very smooth at third base." Hall is moving back to the infield after spending the 2007 season in center field. Hopefully the move will let him focus more on offense, as his production at the plate dipped big time last year.

Now that Mike Cameron is slated to be Milwaukee's starting center fielder, Bill Hall will spend most of his time in 2008 at third base. Hall played exclusively in center field last season, but he's played plenty of third in the past, so the adjustment shouldn't be too difficult.
