Although most of the speculation has Bill Hall playing left field next season, it sounds like he might play center. In an online chat on the team's website, Brewers GM Doug Melvin said "Billy Hall also has a chance to be an above-average offensive player for a center fielder."

The Brewers' signing of Craig Counsell all but confirms that Bill Hall will move to the outfield next season. He will most likely play left field, though it's possible he could get a shot in center.

Bill Hall, who is hitting just .238 over the last six games, got the day off on Friday to rest, according to the AP. He could get Saturday off, as well. "He's been striking out a lot lately, and that's a kind of a sign where they're starting to drag a little bit," manager Ned Yost said. Chris Barnwell got the start at shortstop in Hall's place.

Bill Hall returned to the Brewers lineup on Monday after being pulled from Saturday's game and not starting on Sunday due to food poisoning, according to the official team website. He believes he contracted the illness from a sausage and cheese tray at Kauffman stadium. Hall went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.

Bill Hall was pulled from Saturday's game with a stomach problem, and Chris Barnwell started in place of Hall on Sunday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I don't know what it was," said Hall, who thought it might have been something he ate. "I got on first base and the pitcher kept throwing over. I kept bumping my stomach and I started getting a little light-headed and dizzy."

The Brewers gave Bill Hall the night off on Monday, according to the AP. Manager Ned Yost said Hall needed a day off partly because he wasn't producing and partly because Hall dropped his bat in disgust after a called third strike Sunday. Jeff Cirillo started in place of Hall at shortstop.

With J.J. Hardy on the disabled list, Bill Hall will get the majority of the action at shortstop. Hall is hitting .291 with eight homers and 16 RBI, and has served as super utilityman for the Brewers this year, playing second and third base, shortstop and center field.
March 29, 2006
Bill Hall will start the season opener at third base for the Brewers with lefty Oliver Perez on the mound, according to the Brewers website. This basically confirms that Hall and Corey Koskie will platoon at third base.
March 11, 2006
Talks between Bill Hall and the Brewers on a long-term contract broke off this week, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "They decided to stay with a one-year deal," GM Doug Melvin said. "The agents felt our offer wasn't a representative offer." Hall will be eligible for arbitration after this season.
March 3, 2006
Bill Hall signed a one-year, $420,000 contract with the Brewers yesterday with the understanding that negotiations would continue for a multi-year contract, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Hall is expected to split time at third base with Corey Koskie this season, but he's also going to begin working in the outfield to increase his versatility.
January 7, 2006
Bill Hall had been expected to be the Brewers' everyday option at third base this year, but the acquisition of Corey Koskie will change that, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I called Billy and talked to him about this,” general manager Doug Melvin said. “I told him, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll get you playing time.’ He was OK with it."
