Ryan Howard homered twice and knocked in all seven runs in the Phillies 9-7 loss to the Yankees. Howard became the first player in the three-year history of Citizens Bank Park to reach the third deck in right field with an estimated 461 foot shot in the first inning.

Ryan Howard was back in the starting lineup on Tuesday after not starting on Sunday due to a stomach ailment that prompted a trip to the emergency room Saturday night, according to the AP. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Ryan Howard was dropped to seventh in the lineup on Thursday. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, manager Charlie Manuel simply wanted to split up his left-handed bats with a left-handed pitcher on the mound. Pat Burrell batted fifth for the Phillies, and at least for one game, David Bell was moved up to sixth.

After missing three days of workouts with the flu, Ryan Howard returned with a bang on Friday, going 4-for-4 with two dingers and five RBI. "I just showed up and my name was in the lineup," said Howard, who originally was going to be rested until Saturday. "After the second (home run) everyone was saying, `Hey, give me the flu."
