Chad Tracy has missed the past two days due to an illness, the Arizona Republic reports. He has played in two minor league rehab games, and the club hopes he can log 10 contests before returning to the majors. Tracy is coming off microfracture surgery in his right knee.

Chad Tracy had five hits, including two doubles, in an extended spring training game on Tuesday and played first base Wednesday, his first time in the field while recovering from September right knee surgery, according to the East Valley Tribune. Tracy gave his knee a good workout, running from second to home and sliding twice. Arizona hopes to move him to Triple-A Tucson in a week or so.

Chad Tracy began playing games in his rehab from right knee surgery, and went 2-for-6 with a home run in extended spring training, according to the Arizona Republic. Manager Bob Melvin said, "He is not yet playing the field and will remain in extended spring training for several games before playing for Triple-A Tucson."

For the first time in his recovery from microfracture knee surgery, Chad Tracy ran the bases in cleats at full speed on Saturday and reported no pain or complications afterward, according to the Arizona Republic. Manager Bob Melvin noted it would be at least a few more days before Tracy begins a minor-league rehab assignment. Once he gets to that point, he will need around 40 plate appearances before activation.

Chad Tracy is moving toward starting a minor-league rehab assignment, according to the Arizona Republic. He will run the bases over the weekend, Manager Bob Melvin said, and if all goes favorably, he could go down to Tucson sometime next week to begin playing in extended spring-training games or in Triple-A. He is recoving from right knee surgery.
