The tendinitis in Chad Tracy's left knee has been flaring up more frequently, the Arizona Republic reports. Bob Melvin said Tracy, if he's able, likely will make at least a couple more starts during the final three home games. Melvin added that prolonged rest after the season should help alleviate the problem.

Apparently the knee tendinitis that kept Chad Tracy out of Sunday's game has been bothering him all season, according to the Arizona Republic. "But this is the first time I've sat because of it since the first road trip of the year," said Tracy. He said he'll undergo extensive testing once the season wraps up to determine whether "anything else needs to be done or not."

Chad Tracy had to leave Monday's game after colliding with Pedro Feliz while sliding head first into third base, according to the Arizona Republic. "Right now, I feel fine," Tracy said after the game. "I feel like I could go back out there and finish the game if I had to." Tracy has back spasms and is considered day-to-day.

The Diamondbacks signed Chad Tracy to a three-year contract extension Monday worth $13.25 million, according to the AP. The deal includes a club option for 2010. Tracy is hitting .301 with six homers and 25 RBI this year.
