Mets reliever Duaner Sanchez will not be used as a setup man in the eighth inning because of his recent struggles, according to New York Newsday. "I'd like to see Duaner's velocity a little better than it is right now," said Mets manager Jerry Manuel.

Duaner Sanchez was summoned from the 'pen in the ninth inning but failed to record an out while giving up three runs on three hits.

If Billy Wagner cannot go in the ninth inning, Duaner Sanchez will be called upon in save situations according to MLB.com. "Duaner is a guy who has a tremendous makeup for that particular role," manager Charlie Manuel said. "I have no hesitation about that. His makeup is really off the charts."
