The Cardinals recalled Dan Haren from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, according to the AP. He'll work from the bullpen with the Cards. "He's not going to start, but I told him to be ready for anything," La Russa said. "We've always thought one of the best strategies was to break in a young pitcher with roles like this instead of putting the responsibility to start on his shoulders." Haren was 9-4 with a 4.11 ERA and 133 strikeouts in 116 innings pitched over 19 starts with Triple-A.
