It looks like Kenny Rogers will retire, according to MLB.com. Teammate Jeremy Bonderman has been trying to talk Rogers into returning, but says that it looks like he will not be coming back.

Kenny Rogers is leaning towards retirement, according to Mlive.com. "He's retired," new Tigers pitching coach Rick Knapp said Saturday, breaking into a smile. "His wife says that he's retired. Kenny and I go way back."

Kenny Rogers filed for free agency Tuesday, according to Sports Network. He is still deciding whether or not he will pitch next year or retire.

Kenny Rogers wouldn't directly commit to playing in 2009, but it sounds as if he wants to continue pitching, according to the Detroit Free Press. "I know I can pitch," he said. "I could go out and have a great year next year. It can happen."
