At first glance, we would think veteran starter Kenny Rogers would have enjoyed the 6-19 victory over the Texas Rangers, but the Detroit hurler failed to get his team off on the right foot and left without a decision. Rogers lasted just 3 1/3 innings, surrendering six runs (all earned) on nine hits. Rogers threw 73 pitches (44 for strikes) in that short outing, surrendering three walks and earning no strike outs.

The Tigers left-handed veteran struggled in the second inning but retired the final 10 batters he faced for the win. Rogers is being ignored in most traditional mixed leagues. Rogers will have to once again prove himself after throwing only 63 innings last season, the lowest total of his career. Rogers can still win games but it's been three years since he totaled 100 K and his WHIP hasn't been below 1.26 since 1998, so tread carefully.
