The Phillies did what they could withstand the onslaught of offense from the Marlins, but it was too much, taking the 8-2 loss in disappointing fashion. The Marlins did their damage with outfielder Jeremy Hermida , going 2-for-4 with one walk to total four RBIs.

Jeremy Hermida did fantasy owners proud today with an absolutely brilliant day at the plate, going 3-for-5 in the Marlins' 3-2 12-inning win over the Cubbies. Hermida picked up his 19th double of the season and belted a pair of homers, giving him 15 on the season. He left with two RBIs and three runs scored on the day.

As expected, Jeremy Hermida has been activated from the DL, according to the AP. He has previously been sidelined since late March with a strained left hamstring. He will resume his starting role in right field, hence replacing Luis Gonzalez.

Jeremy Hermida is not returning to the Marlins today, but may return on Monday, according to the Sun Sentinel. He was eligible to come off of the DL on Saturday, but the team decided to keep him in Jupiter instead. He could be available in time for Monday's road opener in Washington, and Manager Gonzalez noted that Hermida didn't suffer a setback, but the hamstring wasn't there yet. He added, "He's not comfortable enough to turn it loose. We just want to make sure he's 100 percent. Right now we're not so sure."

Jeremy Hermida will play in the Jupiter Hammerheads' opener today, according to the Sun Sentinel. He is nursing a hamstring injury, and the plan is to have him play for Jupiter again on Saturday, and then join the Marlins for their finale against the Pirates.

Hermida also hopes to play on Friday, and if all goes well he could be activated as soon as Saturday. On just about every sleeper list this season after his strong finish last year, Hermida simply needs to stay healthy to prove he is worth a darn because talent without playing time is basically useless in fantasy baseball.

The outfielder will begin the year on the DL but is expected to be ready after missing just the first four games of the season, according to MLB.com. Hermida could really break out this year, so hopefully this injury doesn't end up holding him back at all.

Veteran Luis Gonzalez has a chance to extend his streak of 17 opening days in a row if Hermida isn't able to make the opening day line due to his health. Big things are expected of the Marlins outfielder, but so far injuries have gotten in the way of production. Hermida hasn't played since March 15 because of a tight left hamstring.
