Jeff Francoeur hopes improved fitness and a new approach lead to a better 2009, and he has one notable teammate in his corner. "Frenchy is going to hit cleanup for us this year," Chipper Jones confidently tells MLB.com. Francoeur put in a lot more work this offseason than he did prior to 2008. "I took a different approach last year going into [Spring Training], and it just ended up being a flop," he explains. "I put too much weight on and I didn't hit soon enough. I didn't throw soon enough. I think the first day I threw was the first day of Spring Training. Now I'm kind of going like I did in [2005 and 2006]. I'm going [to camp] to make the team and be in shape for when the first day of games come." Francoeur also has a slightly new batting stance that he says is close to the one used by Mark Teixeira.
