The Blue Jays recalled Guillermo Quiroz from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday to take the roster spot of Ken Huckaby, who was designated for assignment, according to the AP. "We're hoping he can give us a little spark with his bat when Gregg Zaun doesn't play," manager John Gibbons said. "He's part of the future." Quiroz hit .215 with six home runs and 19 RBI in 24 games with Syracuse.
