August 9, 2008
Minnesota LHP Francisco Liriano may not have enjoyed the same sense of accomplishment that followed his 2008 debut, but he is likely to be proud of the final result as his Twins put the Royals down for the count, 7-3. Liriano pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (all earned) over six his with two walks and five strikeouts.
August 9, 2008
Francisco Liriano will face a schedule featuring some of the weakest hitting teams in the majors over his last 10 starts, reports Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. If the rotation goes as planned, Liriano will face Kansas City three times, Oakland and Seattle twice, and also Detroit, Cleveland and Tampa Bay. Oakland, Seattle and K.C. rank 14th, 13th and 12th (out of 14 teams), respectively, in runs scored in the A.L. Tampa is 10th, and Cleveland is ninth.
August 4, 2008
Francisco Liriano will make his next start on Saturday against the Royals, according to the Star Tribune. Glen Perkins will start Monday, so the Twins can split up their two lefties in the rotation.
