When Francisco Liriano is recalled from Triple-A after rosters expand, he will be used out of the bullpen at first, according to the Star-Tribune. "We want to bring him along slowly," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "He can be a pretty dominating pitcher out of the bullpen the way we've seen him throw in spring training. And we could put him in situations where he can go out and not have too much pressure on him." Liriano is 9-1 with a 1.67 ERA at Triple-A.
