The Seattle closer has yet to blow a save all season, though he was ineffective in Tuesday's All-Star Game (allowing a two-run homer and failing to close out the AL's victory).

J.J. Putz will undergo an MRI Friday morning in an effort to determine the cause of stiffness in his right arm, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports. Putz said the aching he felt come on about half an hour after throwing in the bullpen Thursday was gone Friday morning. But there is some concern that there is an underlying problem and that, possibly, Putz might not be ready to start the season.
