Jason Kubel underwent surgery on his right knee last week to repair a torn meniscus, but he's expected to be ready for spring training, according to the Star-Tribune. This is not the knee that caused Kubel to miss the entire 2005 season. "Everything structurally is fine," GM Terry Ryan said. "He will be ready to go. I'm almost relieved that there was something in the good knee that didn't allow him to function. We have the health issues taken care of now, so we can move on."

Even though Jason Kubel had an MRI on his sore right knee on Monday, he was in the lineup as the DH, according to the AP. He went 1-for-4.
July 14, 2006
Jason Kubel missed yesterday's game due to sore knees, but he hopes to be back in action tonight, according to the Pioneer Press. "I've been playing through it all season," said Kubel. "It's nothing serious."

Jason Kubel was in the original lineup for the Twins on Thursday but was scratched due to soreness in both of his knees, according to the AP. Lew Ford replaced Kubel in the lineup.
May 22, 2006
The Twins recalled Jason Kubel from Triple-A Rochester to replace the injured Shannon Stewart on the roster, according to the AP. Kubel was hitting .283 with four homers and 22 RBI for Rochester.
April 16, 2006
The Twins optioned Jason Kubel to Triple-A Rochester after Sunday's game to clear room for Ruben Sierra. Kubel should be back in the majors once he recaptures his swing for Rochester.
April 10, 2006
The expected return of Ruben Sierra by the end of the week, could force Jason Kubel to the minors, according to the Star-Tribune. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire will give Kubel, who is 1-for-12, more playing time this week. "I want to see Kubel and see how he reacts to a lot of situations early here," Gardenhire said. "We have a roster move [coming up], and if he looks like he's pressing a little bit, then when I bring Sierra up here in a week I can send Koob out and let him get swinging."
April 7, 2006
Manager Ron Gardenhire kept Jason Kubel out of the lineup on Friday due to the wet weather, according to the AP. "Jason's just fine, but there's no sense in pressing the issue in the cold and rain," Gardenhire said. Kubel missed the 2005 season while recovering from surgery on his left knee.
April 3, 2006
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he was leaning toward starting left-handed-hitting Jason Kubel in right field in the season opener against the right-handed Roy Halladay, according to the Star-Tribune. "I'm going to look at the numbers and see what left-handers hit off [Halladay]," Gardenhire said. "He might eat lefties up."
March 29, 2006
Jason Kubel continued to make a case to start in right field by driving in three runs with a two-run shot and a sacrifice fly Wednesday. After the game, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he wouldn't hesitate to use Kubel in that role. "He's putting a pretty good swing on the bat," Gardenhire said. "(Front-runner Michael) Cuddyer's out right now. I would not be uncomfortable if I started (Kubel) on opening day. I had him out there against the Yankees in the playoffs."
March 25, 2006
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire mentioned yesterday the possibility of Jason Kubel making the team in a platoon roll with Lew Ford in right field if Michael Cuddyer and Ruben Sierra aren't over their respective injuries by opening day, according to the Star-Tribune.
March 17, 2006
The Star-Tribune reports that Jason Kubel tentatively is slated to begin the season at Triple-A Rochester, as he continues to recover from knee surgery. However, he's hitting .308 and making enough noise to be noticed in the right field competition with Michael Cuddyer and Lew Ford. "Your thought is on the cautious side," said manager Ron Gardenhire, "but let me tell you what, he's swinging pretty good, and he's moving pretty good, and if he's the best player out there, that's who will be playing out there."
March 8, 2006
Jason Kubel entered yesterday's game as a defensive replacement, his first action in the outfield since tearing up his knee in the 2004 Arizona Fall League, according to the Star-Tribune. He should be back in right field today, as he tries to hold off Michael Cuddyer and Lew Ford for the starting job.
February 16, 2006
The Star-Tribune reports that when asked how his surgically repaired knee was healing, Jason Kubel said, "I am good to go. . . I can do everything." He'll be battling with Michael Cuddyer and Lew Ford for the staring job in right field.
