| July 20, 2007 Jason Kubel wasn't supposed to start on Thursday, but he got the nod because of several injuries in the Twins outfield and responded by going 3-for-4 with a homer and a double. He broke an 0-for-16 stretch and bounced back from an awful at-bat in a pinch-hitting appearance on Wednesday. Manager Ron Gardenhire addressed Kubel's three-pitch strikeout against left Andrew Miller, telling the team's official website, "That's a tough lefty, but you've got to swing. Three fastballs.
