Ryan Shealy missed his fourth straight game Friday due to a viral infection, and it's not clear if he will be able to play this weekend, according to the KC Star. "I just feel really weak when I walk around," he said. "It feels, basically, like a bad flu — only it’s not contagious. You know that feeling when you’re just real weak? That’s what it is."

Ryan Shealy missed his second straight game Wednesday because of hives and flu-like symptoms, according to the Kansas City Star. It's uncertain if/when he'll return.

It appears likely that the Rockies will trade away Ryan Shealy by today's non-waiver deadline, according to the Denver Post. Kansas City reportedly has offered Jeremy Affeldt and a prospect, and Pittsburgh is considering offering John Grabow and another player.

The Rockies called up Ryan Shealy on Monday, according to the AP. Shealy will see some time at first base and in the outfield. "This gives us some flexibility for our bench," manager Clint Hurdle said. "Maybe give [first baseman Todd] Helton a night off."
June 25, 2006
Ryan Shealy was likely going to be called up to DH this week in the AL parks, but he has recently had a stiff back that may keep him from doing so, according to the AP. "Shealy hasn't played for three days and not swung a bat," manager Clint Hurdle said. "I have some thoughts on who will DH, but nothing is firmly in place."
June 23, 2006
The Rockies could be close to dealing Ryan Shealy to Baltimore, so much so that the team has reportedly identified two players they would accept in a one-for-one exchange for Shealy, according to the Denver Post. We need to get him into some games and hope he gets some balls that challenge him and plays have to be made that are major-league-type plays."
