Stephen Drew has missed the past five games at Double-A with a strained right quad muscle, the third time he's been out because of injury this year, according to the Arizona Republic.

The Diamondbacks promoted Stephen Drew from Single-A Lancaster to Double-A Tennessee on Monday, according to the Arizona Republic. Drew hit .389 with 10 home runs and 39 RBI at Lancaster. "He showed that he was overmatching A ball," Diamondbacks farm director Bob Miller said.

Stephen Drew signed a five-year big league contract with the Diamondbacks on Monday worth at least $5.5 million. Drew was considered by many to be the top hitter available when he was drafted last year, but he fell to the D'Backs at 15th overall because teams were worried about their ability to sign him.
