The Yankees recalled Brian Bruney from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday to fill Mike Mussina's roster spot, according to the AP. Bruney had been sent to Columbus on Sunday.

Brian Bruney was sent back down to Triple-A Columbus by the Yankees on Saturday, according to the New York Daily News. In two appearances with the Yankees this week, he allowed no runs and two hits over 2 2/3 innings.

The Yankees called up Brian Bruney from Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, according to the AP. Bruney has struggled this season while bouncing around between the Diamondbacks and Yankees organizations, posting a 7.36 ERA in 20 2/3 IP. However, he has pitched well of late, posting a 3.14 ERA in his last 11 appearacnes with Columbuus. Bruney will be sent down when Cory Lidle returns from the bereavement list.

In order to add pitcher Kevin Jarvis to their 40-man roster, the Diamondbacks designated Brian Bruney for assignment on Saturday, according to the AP. Bruney was with Triple-A Tucson but was on the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster.
