Yankees manager Joe Torre said he plans to stick with Robinson Cano at second base for the foreseeable future, according to Newsday. "This kid is pretty strong," Torre said. "I'm very impressed with that. He doesn't say a whole lot, but he's got that feel that he's a good player, a good hitter." Cano has just two hits in his first 23 at-bats.

The Yankees announced Monday that they will recall Robinson Cano from Triple-A Columbus to be their new starting second baseman. Tony Womack will shift to left field. Through 108 at-bats with Columbus this year, Cano has hit .333 with eight doubles, three triples, four home runs and 24 RBI.
