The Cubs sent David Aardsma and minor league pitcher Carlos Vasquez to the White Sox Thursday in exchange for lefty Neal Cotts, according to the AP. Aardmsma held a 4.08 ERA with the Cubs last year in 45 games. He'll work in middle relief for the Sox in 2007, although he could eventually work his way into more of a setup role.

The Cubs recalled David Aardsma from Triple-A Iowa to replace the injured Glendon Rusch on the roster. Aardsma has a 5.59 ERA in 20 games with the Cubs this year. He has fared much better at Iowa, posting a 3.22 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings.

The Cubs sent David Aardsma to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday to open up space on the roster for Rich Hill, according to the AP. In 20 games with the Cubs, Aardsma posted a 5.59 ERA.

To replace the injured Sean Marshall on the roster, the Cubs recalled David Aardsma from Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, according to the Chicago Tribune. Aardsma is 1-0 with a 5.89 ERA in 18 appearances with the Cubs this season. He posted a 3.09 ERA and averaged a strikeout per inning in 35 innings with Iowa.

The Cubs sent David Aardsma to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, according to the AP. Aardsma had pitched well of late, holding opponents scoreless in his last four innings over three appearances. "We didn't want to send him down," manager Dusty Baker said. "He's been throwing good, but somebody had to go when Williamson came off the disabled list and they both do kind of the same job."

He'll give the Cubs some depth to their bullpen that was taxed Sunday due to Jae Kuk Ryu's 1 1/3-inning start and also could be without closer Ryan Demptster, who left the team for the birth of his child.

The Cubs promoted David Aardsma from Triple-A Iowa after Sunday's game, according to the Daily Southtown. "The bullpen hasn't gone the way we scripted," manager Dusty Baker said. "Guys were going two innings and you can't use them the next day. They told me Aardsma was throwing the heck out of the ball in Triple-A." Aardsma, who held Triple-A hitters to a .087 batting average, struck out 11 batters in seven innings.
