Curtis Granderson had a favorable first session of batting practice on Tuesday, according to the Detroit News. Granderson commented, "Pretty much free of pain, just a little bit here and there. It felt all right, but everything looked kind of funny, being outside for the first time with the cage around me and hitting coach Lloyd McClendon behind me yelling at me about this, that and the other. But it was definitely positive. Hopefully, I'll continue to move forward. There were a few timing issues with my swing though. I could probably play right now, but it's a combination of the pain/ready issue. There's no way I'd be able to jump in there right now. I'd be overmatched."
