Shelton still could win a bench job in the spring, and there's only a slim chance he'll ever find consistent playing time in '08.

Shelton, who was acquired from Detroit last month, spent most of last season in Triple-A. He could produce enough somewhere to land a platoon role, but it's unlikely he'll find an everyday job wherever he ends up.
