The Royals placed infielder Alberto Callaspo on the disabled list, this according to the KC Star. It appears that after Callaspo was arrested for DUI last night and spent seven hours in lockup the team has asked him to undergo evaluation and treatment

Alberto Callaspo was arrested for DUI last night and spent seven hours in prison, reports the Kansas City Star. He was stopped at about 3 A.M. and released around noon.

Alberto Callaspo will start at shortstop against the Twins tonight, according to the Star Tribune. He will bat leadoff as well.

Alberto Callaspo started at second base for the Royals on Sunday. He had two hits, including a double, in four at-bats. He is hitting .333 with one RBI after appearing in three games. The utilityman has no fantasy value outside of deep AL-only formats.

The Royals signed Alberto Callaspo, Shane Costa and Angel Sanchez to one-year deals Wednesday. Callaspo, who came over from Arizona in a December trade, will likely back up at second, third and short this year.
