Chris Snyder and Miguel Montero are supposed to be in a platoon at catcher for the D'Backs, but the right-handed hitting Snyder got the start today over the left-handed hitting Montero against Colorado righty Aaron Cook. Manager Bob Melvin has said before that if anyone has the edge going into the season, it would be Snyder because of what he did last year. Keep an eye on this situation, as many viewed Montero as a sleeper this year, but that was based on the prognostication that he would be in the lineup most days against right-handers.

Chris Snyder and Miguel Montero are expected to share the catching duties for Arizona this year, according to the Arizona Republic. Manager Bob Melvin did say that if anyone has an edge going into the season it is Snyder because of what he did last year (.277-6-32 in 61 games).
