Eric Bruntlett filled in at shortstop for the Phillies on Tuesday after Jimmy Rollins exited with an apparent leg injury. He was notably part of the Brad Lidge package, and hit .246 over 80 games with the Astros last season. The severity of the Rollins injury is yet to be revealed.

The Phillies inked Eric Bruntlett to a one-year, $600,000 deal Thursday, avoiding arbitration with the utilityman. Bruntlett hit .246 with 14 runs batted in during 80 games with the Astros last season. He was sent to Philly in November as part of the Brad Lidge package.
