The Orioles claimed pitcher Anderson Garcia off waivers from the Mets. Garcia was 2-5 with a 4.23 ERA while splitting time between Rookie ball, Double-A Binghamton, and Triple-A Norfolk before being designated for assignment yesterday.

To make room for Ricky Ledee on the 40-man roster, the Mets designated Anderson Garcia for assignment, according to the official team website. Garcia was 2-5 with a 4.23 ERA while splitting time between Rookie ball, Double-A Binghamton, and Triple-A Norfolk.

The Mets are expected to option Anderson Garcia to Triple-A Norfolk when they recall Alay Soler to make a start on Wednesday, according to the AP. Garcia hasn't made an appearance yet after being recalled on Friday.
