The Rangers optioned Freddy Guzman to Triple-A Oklahoma on Saturday to make room on the roster for pitcher Robinson Tejeda, according to the AP. Guzman was recalled on Wednesday and played in one game this week. He is 2-for-7 this season with Texas with one run scored.

In a swap of minor leaguers, the Padres traded Freddy Guzman to the Rangers Thursday for infielder Vince Sinisi and right-hander John Hudgins, according to the AP. Guzman, who missed all of last season while recovering from reconstructive elbow surgery, will report to Triple-A Oklahoma. Guzman was hitting .274 with two homers and 14 RBI.
