If the Devil Rays don't sign an outfielder this offseason, Joey Gathright will probably begin the season as a starter in left field, according to the Tampa Tribune. Rocco Baldelli is likely to miss at least the first month or two of the season, forcing either Carl Crawford or Jose Cruz, Jr. to move to center field.

He should spell the starting outfielders for the Rays, perhaps allowing Rocco Baldelli to nurse a thigh injury from the DH spot.
