Geoff Geary underwent surgery Wednesday for repairs to a right hip adductor injury and a torn abdominal muscle, according to the AP.

Geoff Geary threw a 50-pitch simulated game on Sunday, and will be back in the Astros bullpen on Tuesday, according to Astros.com.

Geoff Geary threw 30 pitches in the bullpen prior to Fridays game and indicated his strained groin felt better, according to the Houston Chronicle. The last five were four-seam fastballs thrown at full-strength. He hasn't pitched since August 26 due to the ailment.

Geoff Geary, who is nursing a right groin injury, was unavailable for a second straight game Wednesday, but is almost ready to return to the hill, according to the Houston Chronicle. Manager Cecil Cooper said, "Im going to say one more day for Geary. He felt awful good Tuesday. He threw off the mound a little bit and felt not as bad as we thought."
