After watching Scott Olsen try to throw this week at Triple-A, the Marlins' medical staff has shut the pitcher down for at least three weeks, according to the Miami Herald. It's possible that his elbow inflammation could keep him from returning to action this season.

Josh Beckett came off the DL in time to make his start on Thursday, which pushed Scott Olsen to the bullpen. However, Olsen entered Thursday's game in the seventh inning when Beckett suffered a possible recurrence of his blister problem. If Beckett is forced to miss any time, Olsen will likely take his place in the rotation.

It is currently unclear as to whether Scott Olsen, who made his major league debut on Saturday, will get a chance to make a second start, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Olsen's next start is scheduled for Thursday, however, that is the day Josh Beckett is eligible to come of the disabled list. If Beckett is having no blister problems, he will make the start.

Recalled from Double-A Carolina to start Saturday, rookie Scott Olsen earned a win in his debut. Filling in for the injured Josh Beckett, Olsen allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings. He also struck out seven batters.

The Marlins recalled top prospect Scott Olsen from Double-A Carolina following last night's game, according to the Sun-Sentinel. 6-4 with a 3.92 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 80 1/3 innings for the Mudcats, Olsen will make his debut by starting on Saturday.
