The Marlins recalled Scott Olsen from Triple-A Albuquerque Thursday, according to the AP. Olsen, who had secured a spot in the rotation out of spring training but was sent to the minors until the team needed a fifth starter, is scheduled to make his first start of the season against the Nationals on Saturday.

Scott Olsen remains one of the top candidates to fill the fifth spot in the Marlins' rotation, according to the Sun-Sentinel. If he were to crack the starting five, he'd be joining fellow left-handed pitchers Dontrelle Willis and Jason Vargas, but manager Joe Girardi is not opposed to starting three southpaws at once.
