August 19, 2008
The Pirates got just enough hits and more than enough runs to pull the 4-1 win over St. Louis, thanks in large part to the efforts of RHP Ian Snell. Snell pitched seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing just four hits and one walked powered by eight strikeouts.

The lack of offense in Pittsburgh's 4-2 loss to Philly resulted in another disappointing result for Ian Snell, pitching six innings to allow three runs (all earned) on eight hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
