The Florida outfielder is currently on a rehab assignment in Double-A and is near a return from a back injury that's kept him out of the Marlins lineup since May 2nd. Willingham hit .341 with a 406 OBP and had six home runs and 16 RBI in 91 at-bats before being he was disabled. There is a chance he could return to the 25-man roster tomorrow, but the more feasible ETA is next week.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez said Willingham could be taking part in some rehab games pretty soon if all goes well. "Sometimes these things, he feels good one day, but then you got to see how he feels [on Monday]," Gonzalez said on MLB.com. "If he feels good again, maybe take another BP. If everything goes well, I think by the middle of the week he should be playing some games in the minor leagues -- whether it's Gulf Coast or some place else."

Josh Willingham has a clean bill of health, as he enters spring training, according to MLB.com. "Hammer [Willingham] is ready to go," Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "I spoke with him several times this winter, and he says he is good to go. We may have to give him a couple of days here and there, just so he can hold up the whole year." Willingham missed the final few weeks of last season with a herniated disc in his back. When he does rest, recent signee Luis Gonzalez will start in left field.
