Ryan Sweeney could start seeing more action in center field if he plays well, according to the Daily Southtown. "If (Sweeney) starts playing better, (he will start more)," Guillen said. "I'm going to take it one day at a time and I'm going to try to put the best lineup I can — especially offensively right now because our offense has really struggled. I will try to put the best offense I can in the field." Sweeney didn't help his case on Wednesday night, though, going 0-for-6 against the Red Sox.

The White Sox purchased the contract of Ryan Sweeney from Triple-A on Friday. He'll be used as a backup outfielder. At Triple-A, Sweeney hit .296 with 13 home runs and 70 RBI.
