Joaquin Arias, who missed the 2007 season after undergoing shoulder surgery, is throwing again according to the team's official website. The versatile Arias, is not expected to be ready when the Rangers open their Spring Training schedule later this month. Arias is a natural shortstop but the Rangers will use him at third, second and even in the outfield if necessary.

Joaquin Arias underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery Monday. Rangers GM Jon Daniels said it was "just a little bit more than the normal wear and tear," according to the Dallas Morning News. Arias has been bothered by shoulder soreness since the start of spring training when he was trying to make the move to center field. The team hopes he can be back before the end of the season.

Joaquin Arias, who has recovered slowly from shoulder soreness and an infected thumb, is scheduled to play DH in extended spring training today, according to the Dallas Morning News. It's unclear when he'll be ready to return to action.

The Rangers placed Joaquin Arias on the DL Thursday, according to the AP. Arias is dealing with a shoulder injury. He'll join Triple-A Oklahoma when he recovers.
