September 26, 2007
Scott Baker will not make his scheduled start on Thursday because his right hand is still swollen from being hit by a line drive on Saturday, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Boof Bonser will start in his place. It's possible Baker will work in relief before the season comes to a close, but he won't make another start.

Scott Baker tossed a one-hit shutout against the Royals in the second game of Friday's doubleheader. He came within three outs of a perfect game and two outs of a no-hitter. Baker struck out a career-high nine and threw 111 pitches in just his second complete game in the majors.
August 29, 2007
Scott Baker is scheduled to start one of the games of Friday's doubleheader with Kansas City, the AP reports. Baker is at his Louisiana home to be with his wife, Leann, who gave birth to a son, Easton, five weeks premature. Baker is slated to rejoin the team in Cleveland on Wednesday and throw a side session.
August 25, 2007
Scott Baker left the Twins Friday to be with his wife for the birth of their second child. However, he plans to rejoin the club in time to make his scheduled start on Sunday, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. If he doesn't make it back Sunday, Kevin Slowey will be recalled to start.
August 24, 2007
Scott Baker left the Twins on Friday and will miss his scheduled start Sunday to be with his wife, who is expected to deliver their second child this weekend, according to the AP. No replacement has been announced for Baker, who is 6-6 with a 4.50 ERA over 17 starts this season.
June 20, 2007
Wednesday’s start against the Mets may well be Scott Baker’s last chance to stick in the Twins rotation. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, “there have been indications” that Baker, who is 0-2 with a 16.39 ERA over his last three starts, might be removed from the rotation if he struggles again.

Scott Baker will make his next start Wednesday in New York against the Mets unless general manager Terry Ryan otherwise makes a roster move, Ron Gardenhire told the AP. Baker has struggled in almost every start since an impressive debut on May 19 against Milwaukee, and he's been hammered for 17 runs over his last 13 1/3 innings.
May 20, 2007
Scott Baker was sharp in his first major-league start of the year Saturday, working 8 1/3 innings against the Brewers. He allowed six hits and two runs - both on solo homers - with no walks and five strikeouts.
May 18, 2007
Nothing has been officially announced, but Scott Baker is expected to be called up to take Sidney Ponson’s spot in the Twins rotation. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Baker will likely be scratched from his scheduled minor league start on Friday night and instead start for the Twins on Saturday in Milwaukee. He is 3-2 with a 3.16 ERA at Triple-A so far this year.
March 23, 2007
Scott Baker has been sent down to Triple-A Rochester, on the heels of a disappointing 8.71 ERA this month. Look for him to probably get a rotation start later in the year when others struggle or get hurt.
March 13, 2007
Scott Baker, who is competing for a rotation spot this spring, pitched a scoreless inning against the Cardinals on Tuesday, although he still allowed two hits. He's allowed 10 earned runs in 7 1/3 innings thus far, which means he's a longshot, at best, to come away with the job.
March 4, 2007
Scott Baker was hammered again on Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing five earned runs on six hits and two walks in two innings of work. Baker, who is competing for a job in the back of Minnesota's rotation, has now allowed nine runs in just 3 1/3 innings so far this spring.
