Baker felt sluggish while playing long-toss on Monday and there was doubt over whether he could stay on schedule to start the Twins’ fifth game of the season. But Baker stated that he will be able to make his start in a minor-league game Wednesday. If that goes fine, he’ll likely pitch in another minor-league game on Sunday. If that goes fine, he’ll pitch April 4 against the Royals at the Metrodome. Baker is notably nursing a strained lat muscle and hasn't pitched in a Grafefruit League game since March 8. This is promising news and he commented, “This morning, I ate a normal breakfast. I feel a lot better.”
