Brian Bannister snapped out of his recent skid by tossing eight shutout innings against the Orioles on Sunday. He allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out five. Bannister improved to 4-4 with a 3.75 ERA. He earned a loss in each of his previous four starts.

The Royals goosed their run-starved attack for an early lead Tuesday night before Brian Bannister gave it all back and more in a 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels at Kauffman Stadium, according to the KC Star. It came down to this: Bannister couldn’t retire Garret Anderson in RBI situations. Anderson hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning and delivered two-out RBI singles in the fifth and seventh.

Brian Bannister dropped his fourth straight decision on Tuesday night. He served up 13 hits and five runs over 6.2 innings against the Angels. Bannister walked two, struck out three, and tossed a wild pitch. He has now allowed five homers over his last three outings.

Brian Bannister started off 3-0 this season, but has lost three straight decisions since then, and will try to get back in the win column tonight when the Royals host the Angels, according to MLB.com. This will be his first career start against the Angels.
