Jered Weaver has been moved up from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga to Double-A Arkansas, according to the LA Times. However, the Angels likely aren't planning on calling up their No. 1 draft pick from 2004 in September, though they haven't ruled it out.

Jered Weaver, the Angels No.1 draft pick in 2004 who didn't sign until May 31, made his professional debut for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Monday. He pitched three innings, allowing a run and three hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Jered Weaver finally agreed to a contract with the Angels on Monday, according to the LA Times. He will receive a $4 million signing bonus pending a physical. He will likely report to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga for workouts next week. Weaver was one of the most dominant college pitchers in the nation before the Angels made him the 12th overall pick of the 2004 draft.
