Due to Sunday's rainout, the Yankees may be able to skip Kei Igawa's next scheduled start. The problem is that Ian Kennedy was supposed to work a Triple-A on Sunday, but his outing was also washed away, Newsday explains. At the moment, Igawa is still listed as a starter for either Thursday or Friday.

Kei Igawa is still in line to start on Wednesday against the Rays. "I don't have news that someone else is going to start," manager Joe Girardi tells the New York Post. "That's our plan." Igawa was rocked for 11 hits and six runs over three innings on Friday.

Kei Igawa's season debut was much like his last start for the Yanks, a forgettable one. The left-hander lasted just three-plus innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits.

Kei Igawa will make his season debut when he takes the diamond against the Tigers at Comerica Park tonight, according to MLB.com. Manager Joe Girardi said, "I thought as spring went on, Igawa got better and better. He got better pitching down with his fastball. I thought he got better at attacking the zone. He has the ability to strike out people because he has some deception. He can elevate his fastball, which hitters will chase at times. But most of the time you have to pitch down in the zone." He will duel with veteran Kenny Rogers.

Kei Igawa will start on Friday, followed by Darrell Rasner on Saturday, the New York Daily News reports. The Yankees will be facing the Tigers in Detroit for both contests.
