As expected, Rudy Seanez has signed with the Padres, according to SportsTicker. The Red Sox designated him for assignment on Aug. 19. He'll add some depth to their bullpen.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Rudy Seanez has reached a verbal agreement with the Padres. He was released recently by the Red Sox and cleared waivers. He should be activated prior to Friday's game, assuming the contract is formally signed.
