He also told manager Ozzie Guillen to play the best player and left open the possibility of a platoon. "All I know is that I have two pretty good players over there and Ozzie has the latitude to use them however he wants," Williams said.

Japanese second baseman Tadahito Iguchi agreed to a two-year contract with the White Sox on Monday. The club is expected to formally announce the deal once Iguchi passes a physical. The 30-year-old veteran, a four-time Japanese All-Star, hit .333 with 24 home runs and 89 RBI with the Daiei Hawks last year. In his career, Iguchi has also won two stolen base titles and three Golden Gloves awards.
