Elijah Dukes will be out of action for four to six weeks because of a knee injury he suffered during battle with the Reds on Saturday, according to the AP. Dukes tore cartilage and partially tore a tendon in his right knee when he crashed into the left-field wall after catching a flyball in the seventh inning.

The Nats didn't struggle with offense this evening, posting nine runs on 15 total hits to beat the Marlins, 9-6. Outfielder Elijah Dukes was a force for the cause, going 3-for-5 with his fifth homer as well as his ninth stolen base of the season, totaling one RBI and three runs scored on the night.

Elijah Dukes had a huge night on Friday as he went 5-for-6 with two runs and two RBI for the Nationals. Dukes also went deep for the second time this year while stealing two bases against the Rangers.

Elijah Dukes had a run in with his manager Manny Acta on Tuesday night, in full view of TV cameras, according to MLB.com. Apparently there was a miscommunication that required Dukes, Acta and GM Jim Bowden to have a sit down meeting after the game.
